Simply Fresh by McCaffrey’s is a gourmet, small-formet spin-off from the McCaffrey’s Food Market chain and the company’s fifth store. It features full service meat, seafood, cheese, deli, bakery, and prepared foods staffed with food experts – chefs, butchers, seafood and cheese mongers, bakers and baristas – from open to close. A very unique aspect is that the building is a restored 1928 industrial deco structure. It was formerly a Ford dealership and service garage Our design team was inspired by the building’s historic charm, original structure and classic details. Retrofitting a historic building poses unique challenges but more importantly, presents an opportunity to repurpose classic older structures. Exposed trusses, restored wood ceilings, rugged brick, and polished concrete, frame a masterful merchandising program and a dynamic shopping experience.
