Sparkman Wharf is an outdoor, waterfront entertainment venue in downtown Tampa, Florida featuring a food hall style assortment of 11 restaurants creatively housed in shipping containers, a biergarten, a recreational lawn and a stage for live music. Our team was hired to develop signage guidelines for the developer, and then work with each of the 11 restauranteurs to develop primary and secondary signage for their boxcars. We encouraged tenants to get creative with us, to think and to participate in the design process. We established overarching signage guidelines to maintain a cohesive look throughout the park, but also let them know that the rules were not set in stone. Our goal was variety and cohesion.
